Top Ten Britcoms ever from an American Perspective

Whatever you feel about the Brits you have to admit that they have consistently made fantastic Television.
This is a list of my favorite Britcoms from my lifetime. Agree or Disagree ?

Starting with #10  The long running classic from 1972-1985. It almost makes working in retail look like it might be fun.

#9  ran from 2000-2011 Created by Fred Barron. With Robert Lindsay, Zoë Wanamaker, Gabriel Thomson, Daniela Denby-Ashe. Comedy about Ben, a dentist, and his family. Who doesn't like a show about a cranky Dentist?

#8   created and written by Simon Nye. Starring Martin Clunes, Neil Morrissey,Leslie Ashe and Caroline Quentin. Classic 90's harmless fun.1992-99

#7 This delightful comedy ran from 1992 to 2002 with a Reunion special in 2005. Dame Judy Dench what more is there to say?

#6   The Office. Though it only had two series and a Christmas special this show is one of the best ever made on either side of the pond Created, written, and directed by Ricky Gervais who in my opinion has never done anything half as good not knocking him at all it just that The Office is pure genius.

#5.written by Steven Moffat ( Loved his Doctor Who tenure) series ran from 2000-2004 yeah its British "Friends" but its so much better.

#4 1994-2007 A small rural conservative town that isupended after their Vicar dies and is replaced by a gasp... woman.

#3 Fantastic series that ran from 1990-1995. Oh ,Hyacinth  I know that its two T's. Starred Patricia Routledge, Clive Swift, Geoffrey Hughes, Harold Snoad.

#2 Ab Fab ran from 1992-2012  A movie is being planned for sometime this year(2015) OMG! I am a disciple of Patsy and Adina. Created by Jennifer Saunders, based on an original idea by her and Dawn French( The Vicar of Dibley) and written by Jennifer Saunders and also starred Joanna Lumley as Patsy.

#1Image result for father ted 1995-1998 where the years that this fantastically irreverent show ran. Season 3 Ep6 Kicking Bishop Brennan up the Arse is the funniest thing that I have ever seen. I'm laughing right now just thinking of it.

Yemen, King Abdullah, and Ballgahzi

 @deaginghipster

The President and Prime Minister of Yemen have decided to quit their jobs. If anyone is interested in trying to run a failed state there are multiple job openings as I do believe that the whole cabinet has washed their hands of the whole situation as well. According to Reuters these abdications  suprised not only the 25 million people who live there but also the Iranian backed Houthi Rebel group. (Who are they?)

Are you keeping up because I'm not sure that I am, lets have a quick refresher on our recent history with our "close ally" on the Arabian Peninsula

On October 12,1990 the USS Cole was refueling in Aden Harbor in Yemen when it was attacked by a suicide bomber 17 US Sailors where killed and 39 where injured. Al-Queda claimed responsibility. Our close "ally" Yemen growing terrorist since 1990. Where did the asses that decided to shoot up Paris give shout outs to before they went out in the preverbial blaze of bullets and gunsmoke? The training camps in Yemen is where. Where does ISIS call home and Al-Queda too ? Yemen is where. This is a friend? the last time I looked my friends where not housing my arch enemies. Just because they accepted  the prisoners that we sent over there to be tortured and they let us send off some really expensive remote controlled aeroplanes that pack a wallop does not make us friends.

King Abdulla passed away yesterday at the very ripe old age of 90. His reign was short 2005-2015. According to Wikipedia he is survived by 11 wives and 18 royal heirs. He also leaves behind a legacy of being the ruler of a nation that provided (s) the start up and operational cost of ISIS and Al-Queda. http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2014/06/14/america-s-allies-are-funding-isis.html
We are batting 2 for 2 in the friends on the Arabian peninsula department. The Saudis gave us 911,Osama bin Laden , and until very recently ridiculous gas prices. How is that a friend of our nation? They give the money to the guys that the President vowed to fight during the state of the union. They are the guys that our children fight and kill and then come back home tortured by PTSD because their humvee was hit by an IED and oh the terrible things they have seen. The most atrocious fact is that We The People are paying for all this madness not only because of the prices that we are willing to pay at the pump but because we let ISIS overrun the Iraqi army and capture huge arms caches from Humvees to helicopters to shiny new M16's paid for by you and me. How much of the half billion dollars that they stole from Mosul's central bank was American Aid?
Which leads us to the all consuming scandal of #Ballghazi. The
New England Patriots exemplify what America used to be. They play to win damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead!
They are not nice and they will crush you if you get in the way of them achieving their goal. Kinda like Truman dropping the bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki unapologetically. I'm not condoning that act but I do appreciate the fact that action was taken to end the War. I am so tired of continuous war for the sake of it.
We turn our children into murderers and let them  get murdered for who? For what? So that we can prop up yet another failed state call them our friends lavish them with boatloads of cash and have them stab us in the back?

Weight Loss Plan... Stop Eating Out.

According to a recent study people who eat out regularly consume an  extra 24,000 calories  yearly which translates into 6 to 7 pounds of weight gain yearly. Study co-author Lisa Powell, a professor of health policy and administration at the University of Illinois at Chicago, said " the researchers wanted to better understand the role of restaurant food in people's diets. "We know that parallel to the rising rates of obesity, Americans have been increasingly eating food away from home, and they now take in, on average, about 600 calories a day from restaurants. Interesting article.," Sadly, Americans rarely eat together anymore. In fact, the average American eats one in every five meals in her car, one in four Americans eats at least one fast food meal every single day, and the majority of American families report eating a single meal together less than five days a week. It’s a pity that so many Americans are missing out on what could be meaningful time with their loved ones, but it’s even more than that. Not eating together also has quantifiable negative effects both physically and psychologically" This is according to a fantastic article in  The Atlantic that you should read.

I think that a lot of social problems would start to clear up if as a nation we went back to having a family dinner. It is really quite satisfying to prepare a meal and have the satisfaction of knowing that no one is eating better than you because you made you exactly what you wanted. You did not have to go to a restaurant and micromanage your order. You've totally avoided the frustration of your meal being all wrong and having to pay for it anyway. Plus you'll save a bunch of money.

Women Rejuvenate Yourselves With A Good Haircut

it's time for a change ... It's 2015 and this aging hipster needs to go through a metamorphic change. And a good hair cut is one way to turn back the hands of time.

It's liberating and always announces a new Era of life. I was lucky enough to get a gift certificate to #Elizabeth Arden.
I love walking through the Red Door, it's a great way to start the day.
I'm a little shell shocked because I've made the decision to go with a short cut
Bye bye hair.
But I'm pretty sure the results are fabulous. So if your feeling old go and get a haircut it will wipe some years
away. I highly recommend the Elizabeth Arden in Chevy Chase and if you are  a Black Woman ask for Trish she is fantastic.

Over Forty? Strength Training Will Tremendously Improve Women's Health

It's a well known fact that as women age we lose bone density and muscle mass.
The key to stopping the degeneration and to turning back the clock is to eat power house foods and exercise.

I'm weighing in at 134.6  with a BMI of 20.5 which is pretty good for a 41 year old woman. A normal Body Mass Index ranges between 18.5 and 24.99 you don't wanna sink below 18.5 because then your underweight and what  really is the point of that it's just stupid, I've spent a long time working in restaurants and twice I've seen what a bulimic can do to a bathroom and that's not fair to anyone. If you do have an eating disorder EAT it's okay. Do not try to live up to the unattainable coo coo scale in your head. Health is our goal not vanity. We all want the quality of our lives to be the best that it can be  for as long as it can.

That's me @ Deaging Hipster
A BMI of 25 or over is overweight and we really don't want that because that means that you are standing on the precipice of fatness and who wants that? So make a choice and let the force be with you.
Having a BMI of 30 or more means that  you are looking a bit like Peter Griffin from Family Guy. So get rid of the bingo wag, melt some fat and turn the rest into muscle by hitting the gym or by using one of the plethora of Aps out there that make you use your own body weight as resistance. FYI fitstar is awesome I use it all the time.

I'm not interested in weight loss so I'm not going to focus on cardio  exercises very much. I dislike running and/or walking indoors and I am not a fan of the cold. My main goal during the winter months is going to be to build muscle without bulking up and to do that I'm going to focus on strength training and also flexibility. Which means that I will be focusing on high repetitions using light weights. And by using  the resources that I already have on hand I'm going to avoid disappointing myself by never going to the gym whilst still paying monthly for it. The buildings workout room is going to be good enough for me.  And on rest days I plan to use my smartphone and use one of those Aps that I talked about earlier to work on flexibility. I hope that you will do the same. I did get a little Cardio workout today I walked a half mile to the DC Metro got off and walked a mile to Grandma's house stopped off at Starbucks picked up a grande latte for me and a grande mocha for Grandma.
