- Cryjam publishing releases a new book of poetry by celebrated 20th century poet Marilyn Elain Carmen

Jan 08,2015 - Cryjam publishing releases a new book of poetry by celebrated 20th century poet Marilyn Elain Carmen one of the most powerful poetic voices of her generation.
"To What Soul Were You Singing" is the first compilation of unpublished works to be printed in the sixteen years following her death.
Marilyn Elain Carmen's work is an important record of the African American experience that resonates deeply and profoundly in the current era.
Her poetry is vividly painted and rooted in the pain of existence. She lost her Mother at the age of 11 and was raised by her mentally unstable Aunt. Her work is filled with loss, unfulfilled love and the brutality of life. It is also infused with the pride and being a survivor who could come out of the other side and share her experiences openly and honestly with a genuine hope to enact global change one broken and healed person at a time.
It is our honor at Cryjam Publishing to make these very important works available. "To What Soul Were You Singing" is available on Amazon.com in both print and digital formats
